Maybe its my settings, if i turn off everything I might actually see the enemy but then whats the point in playing if it looks rubbish.
I just dont get Arma 3, it seems its made to punish you and be difficult to use on engage with on purpose.
And like Raven said, observe your surrounding before charging ahead. When you need to stop to check the map, plan a route, etc., make sure you find cover that will keep you hidden and keep you protected from bullets if they do see you.
Take your time...a simple "survive" type mission can take over an hour in this game if you want to do it right.
Maby this will help,a lot of times you wont find yourself fighting enemy solders but fighting the trees and the bushes and the hills and rocks.
To ease things, allow unlimited saves and reduce AI accuracy.
Don't fire full auto at anything that is at distance all this will achieve is giving your position away.
300m is the maximum range for most assault rifles and remember to adjust for bullet drop
at maximum range.
And that's why there's customizable skill and accuracy settings for both friendly\enemy ai...
Also dont forget, you can loot fallen soldier, looking at them and pressing I, some might have assault rifles with optics, binoculars or range finder, so it will help you to spot the enemy better.
