Is this an OK game for my ten year old?
Yes my grandson saw this game on the steam thing and he wants it. I dont know if this is the right game for him or not, so he told me i should ask on this forum.

This game is besically a Combat Simulator. No other violence involved rather than killing. Some strong language too(in campaign missions) other than that, game is ok. Its up to you to decide if this game is apropriate for your child. When i was a kid, my father would allow me to play any kind of a game i want. I turned out to be ok.

Asking if the game is ok for somebody when you have 42 hours logged on the game is abit random? Either way it's nothing more then what's on the news...

The only thing I'd be concerned with is how realistic the game is.

Seems like a troll, but it's pretty suitable. Out of all shooters, you see the least gore here. You shoot at people, they drop down with some blood on their unfirom, done.

nah it's fine, a bity sweary (nothing he won't hear in the playground) but nothing graphic or disturbing.

Nothing along the lines Grand Theft Auto, but it is a military simulator and may be quite advanced for a 10 year old. I played the original (Operation Flashpoint) when i was 13 and enjoyed it but it was too much to fully understand then, and i imagine an average 10 year old might get bored of it.

The answer it's still more easy, just check this title, and you will see then it's been catalogate in Mature +17...all the rest it's just your choice.. not the players here!

If he was my son....it's will be a negative answer!....even because there are so many other titles more appropiate for that age!

Just my 2 cents....of course!

Your kid will most likely be bored playing this game the way it was meant to be played. When I say that, I mean he will probably skip the campaign because of the slower pace/more methodical gameplay and head into multiplayer. This is why I do not recommend you buy this for your kid: The game modes that he will most likely be drawn to, such as Altis Life, will be made up of cursing prepubescent kids who will most likely corrupt your son and convince him to jump off a bridge because it is "funny". Most people in this community are now larping ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who go around 'trolling' (griefing for amusement) and going full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because they have no lives. The game itself isn't bad and there are communities/groups which are normal, but keep your $60 and preserve your son's brain cells.

Hi, Sandman here from the 48th MI... we have a 11 yr old and 13, 14 yr old in our clan. We have no age restrictions. But if they apply I tell them that this is mostly young adults on here and the game play and language is not what they are used to. I say this because at some point he will want to go "multiplayer" and experience the game that way. Our "Kids" do ok, but there is a learning curve on both sides. Too be honest I would say NO, he's too young but then he could be playing Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty, both of which can be graphic. Again, its your call
Good Luck! P.S I'm a big child, I'm 59...retired AF. now a grandparent! :)

I love how people either choose not to read the ratings on games or just ignore them.

Sure, let him play, then afterwards sit down with him to watch hardcore pornography with your bongs and bourbon.

I would say no, not because it is a shooter, but because of the nature of the game. It is a combat simulator that requires tactics that your son will probably not understand and grow bored/frustrated from. It really isn't a game for kids under 13 or people who don't really understand the game's nature.

It is a lot less violent than other shooter games thats for sure. I would let my ten year old play it, if I felt he was mature enough.
ShadowPhoen1x Mar 9, 2014 @ 7:39pm
lol, no, its a bit too complex for a 10yr old to grasp, unless he has the patience of a monk and a level of understanding leaning towards international diplomacy, economics and trade relations, then he'll bore of it
