video tdr failure for windows 8?

just bought the game, and whenever I try and run the game, my video card crashes and the error message says video tdr failure. I have windows 8.1, nvidia geforce 745m and the driver version is 332.21. Any help is greatly appreciated and if you can put it in terms that someone who is not a computer genius can understand it is even better. Thank you.

It could be the drivers or the OS. I have AMD Radeon with regular windows 8 and I have no problems.

just updated drivers and...same problem, if it were any other game i would try and return. but i have been eyeing this game since release.

Is not your card or PC , is the fact that Game Developers havent fully tested Nvidia Card with this game , not to mention the game has truckloads of bugs , read my review "Thanks"

Game Runs fine on windows 8.1 Runs Fine on Windows 8 .

... Not sure what Boom's Talking about with (not fully tested with Nvidia cards...) games designed with them in Mind..

Try updating to the latest Nvidia Drivers as well as use the Geforce experience to opt. the game for your rig.
As well verifiy the game Cache < sometimes you might of missed a few files during the download .

Right click on the game in your library then A Window pops up then click on the local Files TAB look for something that says Verifiy game cache (does a quick scan ) and if any files are missing it re downloads them

It has nothing to do with the game and is a problem with either the driver, the GPU, or Windows. He even said it happens in other games...and if you took the two seconds to search you'd see that it happens a lot in Win8 and games, so nice try in spreading your BS lies

@OP - It seems most people get that error if the card is overloaded i.e. it's too hot! Since you're playing on a laptop there's not much you can do except turn graphics down and hope that it doesn't crash. Maybe get a temp monitor for your GPU (GPU-Z is good) and while running the game, see if it's going past the heat threshold

I dont even get a chance to turn the graphics down haha, the farthest i get is the bohemia interactive screen, then my computer crashes. verifying the cache doesnt work and I have the latest driver installed
