Can't join any multiplayer server. Stuck at Receiving Mission File 0kb / 0kb
Hi All

I hadn't played Arma 3 in months after never having an issues previously and then I started the game a few days ago and I have been unable to join any Arma 3 multiplayer server.

I installed the breaking point and battle royale mods (as that was part of the reason to get back into Arma 3) however started receiving problems. I have reinstalled Arma 3 twice and tried loading a server with and without mods installed. It doesn't matter what I do, or if I instal with or without mods I always end up with the Receiving Mission File 0kb / 0kb error until I get kicked.

I have a feeling it has something to do with my firewall or router however even with a disabled firewall and port forwarding on the router I have the same problem.

I've googled contiously for a few days and tried a heap of suggestions. Unfortunately most posts I see with people with the same issues get little or no replies offering help :(

Any help would be appreicated!

Have you looked in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common to see if theres some old mods you deleted in the past, that are still in that folder some of them may have corrupt files. Or it could just be breaking point ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up arma their website gave me a virus. Also this game just had a hotfix for 1.54 and some servers may still have the old 1.54 without the hotfix. If you search the gamemode sector control or name king of the hill and look for hostile takeover they always have their servers on the lastest build.

Hi UnDeadDemon,

I have checked old mods and even deleted them again just ot be sure and still no luck. I also tried joining the servers you suggested and also no luck. Still getting stuck at Receiving Mission Files.

Wow thats really messed up man and i'm guessing you've already tried to verify through steam by right clicking the game > propterties > local files and verify game cache. I'd contact their support if you still cant get it working email - support@bistudio.com

Thanks for replying again UnDeadDemon,

Yes, I had tried the game cache. No luck.

A bit more googling and it appeas that it may be related to the MTU settings on my router. The default setting on my router may be set too low than most servers require. It also appears that I can't change this setting on my router. I'll try another router soon and see if that makes a difference.

In the mean time it seems I am stuck and can't play the game :(

Thanks for the help anyway.

Hi WltraumFuchs,

No I never found a solution. I still firmly believe that the issue is related to my MTU settings in my router however with my router I am unable to change these settings. I would have to try a different router to see if this works which I don't have at the moment.

If you have the same problem maybe try changing your MTU settings. Just google serch your router model and MTU and it should tell you if you can change the settings or not.

Hope that helps!

Hey Guy's,
i tryed everything i could think off and talked even with the bohemia Support over the curse of X mails... very friendly and all but in the end tey offered for me to send in the Report files with no final solution..

I tryed Something else.

Instead of my Fritzbox Router i use now an old D-Link Router and can connect without any problem. I Dont know if the Fritzbox blocked some ports automaticly, even tryed to set Portforwarding rules to the udp/tcp 2300-2400 udp/tcp 47624 udp 28800-28900 Ports, no Luck here..

But with a diferent Router the Problem is gone.

Thanks for the update Weltraum. I also have a Fritzbox so I am assuming it is a problem with the router. I'll get myself a new router soon and give it another shot.

Thanks

Make sure Arma 3 is not running
go to your pc where Arma 3 stores this folder - my is here
c:\Users\my pc\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
You will see a folder called MPMissionsCache delete just this folder .
restart Arma 3.
This will force arma 3 to redownload the mission file when you log onto a server again.

If you can't find this location type %AppData% into windows explorer address bar. This will take you to a folder called Roaming, which is one folder in the AppData folder - YOU need to go back one folder to get into the AppData folder, then look for the Local\Arma 3\MPMissionsCache folder.

All credit to "Black Abbott"
This actually worked Thank you so much I couldn't find a cache file before
