Ad Topic: Not every DLC is worth it.
Karts/Jets/Tanks DLC - gives you new vehicles to use.
Marksmen - gives you a few new weapons
APEX and Contact - give you new maps, new campaign and new vehicles/weapons
Are you interested in a specific dlc?
The MARKSMEN gives some nice weapons but you can get a lot better from mods like RHS and CUP.
The WESTERN SAHARA CDLC gives some nice items as well, and is cheap.
If you're up to other eras, the amazing S.O.G.: PRAIRIE FIRE which is based in vietnam era and is one of the best CDLC's for this game so far (for me), or the very recent SPEARHEAD 1944 CDLC which places you in WW2, the recent update added good stuff.
No he asked if they're worth it and they're definitely not.
I really like to play CAS and messing about in the helis, so jets and helicopters are a must have for me. but someone who is more into the boots on the ground side of things may be perfectly content with the base game helicopters and planes.
S.O.G Prairie Fire is pretty fun, but you wont really see its assets used on many of the base game servers so its only needed if you're looking for that Vietnam experience.
The DLC usually gets a hefty discount every major steam sale, So if you hold off till October you can pick up a lot of those less important DLC for the low.
Everything is the SOG or Spearhead dlcs, or Mods from a more historical context. For me, the DLCs sold the game.
I have CONTACT and felt sorry for buying it. Not very fun, totally unnecessary for enjoy the game.
APEX/MARKSMAN/TANK/JET are decent and should have, Kart and that humanitarian dlc is useless. But you can get all of them dirt cheap when sale off.
SAHARA cDlc is not bad, but I don't like some recent 'balance' about the Extraction scenario.
QRF cDlc is okay, but didn't see the contents used much in community.
I don't have other DLCs (or just forgot I have), and don't feel any kind of urgent for them.
ARMA 3 official contents are okay-ish. What makes this game super great, is those brilliant community mods and addons.
The only good DLCs are Karts, Apex and Laws of War. Aside from that, the other ones are only meaningful or essential due to them sometimes being required for certain basic activities in servers scenarios etc.
Contact is interesting because of the map. There are better maps though and last I checked, Livonia runs like ♥♥♥♥. But, oooo, the wheat fields and stuff. The edges of the map look funny, like many landlocked Arma maps, another reason why islands are ideal, or at least a lot of coastline.
I would avoid it all, at all costs.

You can have a good time with the workshop mods also but if you want to join a server its almost every Apex dlc you nedd!
Speaking value for money - Sahara. In general if you put this two on a scale it will always be Sahara.
