Use undercover mode to scout the blind spot of the outpost machinegun positions. Then capture some heavy machinegun trucks from convoy ambush missions, engage the outpost from 500-600 meters away from the blind spot. If you're lucky you might capture something like Shilka or M163 or things like it, then you can just steamroll outposts from 800-1000 meters away.

Mortars.

Watch out for gun emplacements, deadly. Snipe them yourself if you can

send 24 ...expendable troops from one direction, you and your personal squad from another direction and shoot them in the back.

By the time I want to take on my first outpost I have guaranteed some resources and manpower enough to buy the cap of AI squads and send them to attack from several directions while o stay at back with my own squad giving support, just commanding the troops or eliminating priority targets like tanks, helicopters, MG emplacements, etc.

If you want free enemy vehicles to take anything from tanks to APC`s and support vehicles to start. Then the small airfield right near Therisa is the best starting point. I setup my first start north of the AF on the cost road where the X road is and 2 of the roads lead to a dead end, there is a house there to hide the base in. Come in from the North road that goes to the North end of the AF, there is wire fencing and concrete walls with the hanger, most of the time this area is undefended with walking AI also there is no coverage from the static ai and towers. You can run straight up to the concrete wall then go around it via the hanger end gap, then capture a vehicle and get out before they have time to react back along the road then take the road north behind the wooded area. Might take some time and trial and error to start, but I do this every time I need some hardware and its around 80% success rate

I like to use mortars. Ideally if I have armor I’ll do some recon and snipe anyone that would be a threat to my armor and then roll on in
