Do Cup Helicopters use the advanced flight model
Do Cup Helicopters use the advanced flight model, or the standard model only?

Some do and some don't.

Do you know if the Hip, Hind, or Black Hawk have it?

I couldn't tell you of the top of my head. It's been a while since I last flown in A3

Ok thanks man, I'm just looking for something to fly until there is a sale on DCS modules, I want to pick up a couple of helicopters during the next sale.

Totally understand. DCS is why I stopped flying Arma. What chopper are you thinking about for DCS?

If there is a sale, I'll pick up the Huey, and maybe the Gazelle. I'm just starting out in DCS, so I want something fairly simple. If there isn't a sale before the OH-58 comes out, then I'll get that when it releases.

Sounds good. I'm a huge fan of the gaz. Easy to get into and does a little bit of everything. It's my favorite chopper of them all with the ka-50 a close second!

Good luck with it

not specifically. I believe there is a stub, which allow basically all helicopters to use AFM, but without fine tuning. RHS Mi-8 and Huey do use it, with fine tuning.

What do you mean by fine tuning? Any of the mod helicopters I've flown either had it or didn't.
Some helis will have the advanced flight model but in reality they won't. It'll be turned on and change nothing or just have really odd behaviour that doesn't match what's asked for by the AFM. Basically they'll be the arcade model but with more gauges.

If you want some helicopter to behave more closely to his weight and all, you have to create specific config file, and AFM will pickup variables from it (and you have to do some tuning for values). But there is a stub config, which is applying to any helicopter which does not have that config file made for it. remember, Arma objects are made on OOP base - there is a basic parent class, and everything has it's own chain of inheritance.
