Is Arma the most underrated and under appreciated game of all time?

To me it’s gotta be. I’ve never played a more immersive game. There are still several different game modes I love. 5-6 years ago there were even more choices and it’s a shame some of the great game modes died off. Obviously Arma 3 is not on console so that’s gonna make it way less known but I think even among the PC community it doesn’t get its due.

It just has zero competition making it your only option.

Its more of a modding platform than a prefab game in my eyes. Of course it has the official content, but I at least don't play that. Last official content I played was the ArmA 2 campaign and even that I did not finish. Modding is where ArmA shines! The day that ArmA becomes compatible for consoles will be the day that ArmA dies as the modding platform we loved.

There already is support for controllers but it sucks

I guess not had but only 15,000 players compared to 700,000 for csgo, 80,000 for r6s and 70,000 even for team fortress. Arma 3 peak was 9 million. That’s pretty low compared to most top games. For example csgo peak is 463 million. Team fortress peak is 51 million. It just baffles me how these games are that much more popular than Arma 3.

You can not compare ArmA with the arcade 'Mickey Mouse shooters' made for casuals.

It's likely because those games have huge casual scenes.

Broadsword, The only game I would consider harder than Arma pvp would be r6s. Games like Csgo and Call of Duty are easy compared to these games.

More like overated, if there was a remotely competent competitor to this company they would become irrelevant quickly. (And no, Squad isn't a competitor to Arma 3 - the same company that shamelessly sells it's own game assets for money on online stores.. just LOL). I pray daily that someone comes around and makes a better military simulation sandbox - because we all know it's possible.
