Arma 3
Rendering issue even if settings maxed out
So while playing as a sniper in arma 3.
Anything that goes over 1.4 km away gets instantly much harder to shoot or hit. Reason? Theres rocks, bushes that either float. Trees and buildings that sink into the ground.

I got all my settings maxed out.
Yes i still see the following issues.

I really find this annoying, sometimes you're shooting an enemy you see but suddenly appears to be behind a small hill that isnt rendering correctly. Or when trying to aim ahead a moving squad, they sink down into the ground or go prone and disappear completely.

Highly ridicilous. Anyone else having the same issue? Or had? If had, how did you get rid of this bs?

I'm on very bad connection, can't view the videos you posted but I assume you record these on KOTH server.

Servers limit client's viewdistance and for example, you can set your view distance with scrolling down to "player menu" in KOTH servers and increase the viewdistance.

theyr're not videos, they're screen shots which can be viewed from my screenshot gallery

and what is a "KOTH" server may i also even add. I'm not familiar with server calling names

koth Is a mission, a game mode called king of the hill. But most servers should give you a "player menu" when you scroll mousewheel, then you can adjust your client viewdistance.

Modded servers like exile and epoch servers doesn't have this adjustment, at least the ones I know of but regular arma servers should have this adjustment. Try asking to admins or others playing on server if theres a clientside viewdistance adjustment.

In short, this is not arma issue. Its dependent on server you are playing on.

well now i know what you mean, but i have them set to over 5-6 km as well. Long enough supposedly to render it but clearly it isn't.

Once i maxed the view ranges as well, well it rendered everything to trees and bushes and ground textures but it did not eliminate the problem of floating rocks or soldiers clipping through "invisible" ground or mountain textures

whats the "terrain" setting at game's video options?
besides viewdistance, you gotta have the terrain quality at least on high.
If none of them is working, issue is server forcing low setting.

sigh, just when i explain it over, it should be crystal clear, everything i've got is maxed out. Ultra/Very high

Increase the Object distance. Under View distance.

I the server enforces a hard render limit the client setting is ignored. This is to stop the imbalance of people with NASA hardware over the common garden potatoe.

As to the second image down, this s just how ArmA does the partial obscuring of targets in cover at distance where intervening objects (bushes, grass, etc.) aren't rendered. This is why sometimes you see players or AI disappear from view when they go prone at distance.

So a PVE server forces a hard render limit? What's the big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ point in that to be honest? That's like stupid. What's the imbalance in that really?

Listen it can depend on the server, the server sets the TerrainGrid to be either low quality (floating rocks trees etc, higher fps) or higher quality (less floating stuff, possibly lower fps) so it's not something you can change if you want to play on that server.

Online, server mission settings override max local settings on object and view range.
If the server has max 2500 meters and you have 10 000 meters. You will have 2500 while on that server. You can have lower of course.

Welp then ill just assume 90% servers are bollocks for what i'm looking for to play in i guess.

What's the point playing in a server with limited view distance? None.
