2. Approach the target with the Buzzard from the same direction with enough speed relative to your altitude determining when you drop the bomb.
3. At visible distance with the target, the laser dot should be acquired automatically by the targeting computer. Select/Lock the target with the Next Target key (either Tab or R, I think) which can be bound in the control options.
4. Continue toward the drop-point determined by your groundspeed and altitude.
5. Once the targeting computer signals a valid condition to drop the bomb, indicated by a rotated square around the target lock-on square, drop the bomb and then resume normal flight. GBUs are fire-and-forget and will follow the laser dot even during the fall onto the target, so continue lasing until the bomb hits the target.
Remember to perform the initial steps ahead of the predicted drop-off point with margin, you don't want to miss it, or you'll have to go around and make another attempt which takes a lot of time. High altitude is favourable to avoid detection by units not equipped with radars, and to avoid cannon projectiles, while low altitude and high velocity(above 600-700) in combination with a terrain following flight is favourable to avoid getting struck by enemy missiles.
Vitdom explained everything else pretty well but for example, if your lasing friend is targeting a vehicle/building from the North side and you come in from W/E/S you are probably not going to be able to get a lock on because the laser dot is hidden from your view by the target itself.
This might even be something your friend can improve on, for example lasing the top of a tank instead of the side can make a big difference.. or if its a building lasing the rooftop instead of the walls or inside a window.
