What is this all about? is this like some late ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they forgot or have they actually done something new to help out? Either way a new driver for my GPU is new :steamhappy:

Yes, I also have it available for download. I hope it improves the peformance alot, but I doupt it.

So, does it?

Thanks for the heads up, Going to use DDU , then install and report back , im not holding breath.
Doesnt look like some are having good times with this driver. In fact the 361.x drivers are having a bunch of problems. Last 361.x driver i was having fps drops every now and then, dropped back to 359.x and solid fps. Now to DDU and try this one. But your experience may vary.
Actually it says optimization for the soon to be released update for Arma 3. Wonder if this includes the RC and or Dev branch ?

Keep in mind Arma is rarely held back by the GPU... driver update for the GPU might help with some settings but we shouldnt really expect much if any real performance gains.

I wont complain if I can turn some settings up without losing any performance though ;)

OK, with 361.91 after using DDU , Arma 3 RC , nvidia control panel only setting changed is arma 3 to high performance, my monitor at 120hz not 144hz, arma is set vsync on but at title screen i get 144hz, all settings maxed except for the 3 blur and unsharpening settings set to zero, sharpening @ 100 stock, draw distance @4000 / 2000 shadows @ 100, HBAO+ on, FXAA 8x, no mods in sharpshooter at load in i get 95-100fps when i crest the hill it drops to 70-78fps (normal), using the performance malloc from BI, Nothing else running in backround except firewall.
Pretty sure this is what ( within margin of error) i was getting before 361.91, but no fps drops like other 361.x drivers.
EDIT.... One thing, is it just me or is the LODs seem like their closer to player ( higher quality textures popping in sooner) ?

Specs 6700k @4.4 turbo
gtx 980ti @stock
16gb GSkill 2800 mem
samsung 840pro ssd install
2 monitors asus 1080p 144hz @120 , asus 1080p 60hz.

I'm curious to see if anything was actually improved, I think any major optimizations would for sure have to come from BI's side of things, not NVIDIA.

@ sminmorph agreed!, also curious, but more than slightly, meh Oo

Thats why im trying to compare the LODs to see if that is one way nvidia can tweak games to perform better. I know there are other ways but this one stood out before in COD BO3 when i updated driver the hi res textures seem to popin closer.

1.56 has HDAO+ support, the new driver release probably has some optimizations just for that, as opposed to some grand performance increase for the game in general.

Pretty sure you meant HBAO+ , we have had HDAO

Make sure you pick custom install. If not it will install the Geforce Experince, which causes one of the problems with slow pc performance along with cappy Arma3 support. So I uninstalled everything a few drivers back and did have a 10 fps increase along with 24% less CPU usage. But do as you like I do us and like Nvidia's cards just not their game frontend. :steamhappy:

I never install bloatware that i dont use ( gforce experience ) .
