This is an easy fix. Stop using third party programs to play Arma3. Been playing for 4200 hrs. with no problems adding mods or launching, hosting, making. All the problems I read about here with launching, playing, getting kicked, crashing. Seems to stem from using playwithsix, a3launcher, Armasyc. I realize some people belong to groups or clans that use their own mods and use these programs to manage them.
The problem happens when the mod is updated (let’s say CBA A3) then all the Arma3 update, but your group admin doesn’t update it. So when you try to play on any other public servers you get an error message. Now if it's a major mod change then you are hosed until they update. Or lots of groups refuse to update the mods i.e. ACE CUP RHS TFAR because they would have to edit the mission map again, so once more you are stuck either running an older version, so you can play with the group. Or download the new version of the mod and wait for them to catch up.
Way too much trouble just to play a video game dudes. So just use the "new Launcher" it looks for the mods that you need now either on Steam workshop or on the internet. It's found all the ones I've needed since the 1.62 update on the 11th. Good Luck with fixing the problem, causing not playing sucks.

i used to say the same thing but once some mods became A3launcher only i was forced into using it. but now since they have made it better its now the best thing for A3

A3launcher seems doesn't works. And dude i used it because arma 3 launcher don't find some mods. No offense. Of course i prefer use the arma 3 launcher it's easy and faster than A3launcher, but dude this is not perfect. (srry about my english)

Works for me.

A friend though has issues. He has set the correct directories, but it just doesn't load the game properly. Not sure what would cause it.

I can find and load any mod dude. The only reason people use a3 lauancher is because of combined mods from groups that I can see. Other than that what mods are you talking about that I cant load using arma3?

I use desktop shortcuts for the different mod sets.... just add the command lines for the mods you need to activate..

eg.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\arma3.exe" -mod=@CBA_A3;@Blastcore-A3;@BloodMist;@BT_lamps;@TRYK;@RHSUSAF;@RHSAFRF

etc...
