Second: Take it slow. It's possible to land a heli going stupid fast and still set it down like butter on a leaf. It's a matter of knowing the capabilities of the helicopter you're flying. Kind of just piggybacking on the above posts, the key to putting it down gently is to take it slow. No need to come in hot like a barrel of flaming ♥♥♥♥ if you don't have to.
Third: There's some really nice youtube videos that teach you everything you need to know about flying helicopters in Arma 3.
Fourth: Download Survivable Crashes. because why not?
we called it kinetic physix.I called it a momentum anti gravity brake.
In arma 2, they have basic training how to land a heli for a crash landing. but in arma 3 vanilla (original non mod), heli can destroy and blow off only when its rotor touch the trees. But with a popular mod, the heli wont blow off.
That's how I abandoned the dream of becoming a heli-pilot and focused on jet
I.e. use the Schwartz.
