Zeroing is aligning your sights with your weapons point of impact. Its basically making sure your weapons sights are in line with your aim, since everyone holds a firearm slightly differently to the next guy and sights can displace over time etc.
But yeah, adjusting for elevation is usually done with page up and down, but the smaller x4 scopes tend not to be adjustable and rely on a mil-dot system.
