Campaign worth it?
I got the itch to play some missions, and just realized I had never even played the vanilla campaign of this game, is it worth jumping into or is it bland compared to what people have made on the workshop?

Hell yeah. The main story, which is the Prologue and East Wind campaign, is a lot of fun. It's a mix of main missions, side missions, and open world scouting missions that you can pick up by overhearing the other soldiers talking. It's pretty long too, has a good story, and actually has good voice acting for ARMA. I've played through it several times.

Remnants of War is a kind of epilogue to East Wind, and it's pretty good too.

First Contact is really cool, but totally unrelated to East Wind.

Some of the other campaigns are also part of East Wind. They are good, but they're too short and that makes them disappointing, especially when you're doing something different like being a tank commander.

Sounds good, I played through First Contact and while I enjoyed the setting and story I feel the gameplay was tedious sometimes. I'll definitely give the main campaign a try then. Thx everybody.

Absolutely, but don't expect stealth like the elder scrolls or MGS, at least when trying to shake off heat.

Also, some missions are outdated and have not really been brought up to new stamina standards and the like, but only two missions really suffer from it, Tipping Point and...another one which I forgot, which means it can't be as bad as Tipping Point.

Where the AI soldiers rush like mad and often get killed, but without them, you're kinda screwed.
And if you keep up, expect to be huffing and puffing all day.

yeah, the stamina thing shows up mostly in the prologue, because it seems like the squad you're following doesn't suffer from stamina at all. They also move a little faster than us when jogging, but this could be due to a stance or combat pace or something... after all these years, i still haven't really gotten used to all the extra stances and paces, and those prologue missions is really where they should teach us about it, but they don't.

i actually loved the eastwind campaign, especially the first and second act (and believe me when i say im one picky mf) in terms of plotline, ambientation and pacing. the voice acting is not the best most of the time, but you get over it pretty quickly.

I also found it very fun. It has like two or three slightly awkward moments but it wouldn't be Arma if there wasn't any jank in something at all.

But I did think that OP should be aware of Tipping point at least, that mission is kinda RNG due to the friendly AI torpedoing toward the (well guarded and armed) objectives.
