Spar-16 too underpowered?
Alright so, ive been playing the Apex DLC preview for some time now and i noticed that the main weapon of the CTRG cannot compete with well, anything. in Squad V Squad AI situations the CTRG's Spar-16 usually only gets 1 kill before the entire squad is wiped. This is likely due to how it is a 3 shot kill standarly, and against vipers around 4-6 shot kill. Now this wouldn't be much of an issue if it was a side weapon(optional) but instead it's the main gun, with variants for the CTRG.

I was playing the campaign and was surprised how accurate it was, mostly one shot kills for me.

One shot kills to the head i would assume, put into a players hands its certainly a fun gun, but try it at a range or in ai vs ai :l

Well that's interesting. I'm going to set up some AI vs AI situations and see what happens....

Easy to control though.

The thing about Arma is that weapons are modelled accurately - the Spar-16 might be 'underpowered' compared to other weapons, but it's exactly as powerful as it would be in the real world (if it were a real weapon), so you're unlikely to see it made more powerful.

This is just something that happens to real soldiers, they face an enemy with more powerful, but possibly less accurate weapons. You have to adjust your tactics, and improve your aim to compensate.

The SPAR-16 is basically a SLIGHTLY more accurate and heavier (in terms of weight) mk20.

SPAR-16 ~ HK416 (5.56 mm)
SPAR-17 ~ HK417 (7.62 mm)

Well, these have been some interesting responses.

While that is true, you can't really adjust AI tactics all that well.

The Spar-16 is a really good weapon. Overall, it is a slight improvement over the Mk20, which is already a superb weapon, just with a slightly (almost negligible) lower recoil, allowing you to put a lot more deadly accurate fire downrange.
