Even if u type in altis on google maps u find the island.
well congratz for finding out :D
it is. The upcoming map Tanoa is said to be a fictional map but i expect to find traces of that one on google earth as well.
All arma maps will have been based on a real area. Many developers tend to do alot of research into where they're developing their maps, especially games like Arma or even just open world games.

I read that just today actually. And it turns out that when they went to Lemnos, Altis was for the most part finished and that they had gone there, not to take more pictures for the game but as a vacation. And when they were like 2 blocks away from their hotel, the police showed up and stopped them and took them into custody. When they apparently, out of the "tens of thousands" of photos they took on thier trip 7 of them were suspicious and a "threat to Greece's national security". But even after trying to explain why they were there, they still spent I think it was 129 days in prison. That just goes to show that goes to show how paranoid the police there are.
