View distance on Koth, set at 1km?

heyyy I can't tell if my arma settings are broken or if the server has a low view distance (for everyone) but on the hostile take over sever that has lik 85 players max (maybe all servers) i notice I can only see out to like 1km, maybe 1.2km but it's too foggy anyway. I check documents/arma3 otherprofiles/myprofilename.arma3profile and I deleted entries for view distance and object view distance (so it's not overriding anything) and I tried setting ingame object and view distance to 2400 but it's still at 1km. Well is it just the server or should I be able to get more, should I check someplace else for the settings any help plz

Vis distance is usually set server-side so people can't exploit it.

I understand that's possible but I ask on the server people say to check my view distance settings (not sure if they understand the question or are giving me a generic answer) So anyone know about this server should I get more than 1 or 1.2 or is that what it's set at?

There is another option:
These players have always just a sight of 1000 m and do not realise the server sided limitations.

Ok well I guess that's what it's set at, maybe I try other servers and see if the distance changes, i just want to make sure I'm not at a disadvantage (because of some screwy setting on my end) Also normally I hear 1600m is the usual multiplayer setting so when I can't see that far it makes me wonder.

Most KOTH servers have a seperate scripted menu ontop of the normal esc menu. Press whatever key is assigned to it. Its the same koth menu that has groups and things and you will find a view distance menu. You can increase ground, air, and vehicle view distance seperately up to the servers limitations. This is ontop of the normal game view distance menu options.

You should be able to see 4kms in the air and 2 ir so on the ground. If not, you havent done it properly
