ADS + Zoom toggle at the same time?
New to Arma, and I was wondering if there's anyway to aim down sight and zoom at the same time without having to hold down the right mouse button. I'm more accurate with the toggle method, and it doesn't hurt my wrist after long gaming sessions.

Right now I have it bound so that when I hold the RMB it aims down sight and zooms in simultaneously, but I want it to toggle instead. I've tried several different binding, but I can't get any combination to work the way I want. Is this possible?

The + button on your numberpad zooms in and keeps it zoomed for as long as you're in the scope. Try that :3

The whole point is to avoid having to hit extra keys. I don't wanna have to tap the mouse once to then tap something else on my keyboard just so I don't have to hold the mouse button down in order to stay zoomed in. That's really unintuitive.

This isn't an issue with scopes since you don't have to hold the mouse button down for them, but for something like an ACO or ironsights I just wanna hit the friggin' RMB once and get it over with. Is something this simple really not possible? :(

Apparently not. Arma's known for having keybinds for everything, which makes it more complicated as a result. It's not something that you can have one button do everything.

That's made clear from the very beginning, but it doesn't apply in this case because you can already do what I'm asking for with rifles that are equipped with scopes so why not iron sights as well? It makes using rifles without scopes feel clunky (imo, anyways).

I'll see if I can make a macro of some sorts to help mitigate the issue. Thanks for the help.

Metabee, in the original OP Flashpoint this was posible by pressing V. The iron sights came up promptly, making for quick and intense fire fights. When BI switched to 3D weapon sights, combat speed started to go south. In Arma 1 aiming took a lot longer, probably to give the engine more time to render terrain. In Arma 2 you had to aim and then you needed an extra second to zoom. Arma 3 now makes you go through stabilizing, aiming, zooming and holding breath. Alining iron sights under stress is a demanding task and I understand that they want to simulate this. For the shooter the time passes very quickly, as he is focusing on using most of his upper body to aim the rifle quickly. The problem of cause is, that the player sits in his chair and after pressing the button has nothing to do but watch the ever so tedious animations over and over again, while getting shot to bits and pieces. Often it reminds me of the very badly scripted action squences in call of duty, where you have to press certain buttons at a certain time and you can do nothing but watch your demise.
