Nah. I'm still on ddr2 for 4790k. That cpu is a beast that lasted me this long (since 2014 perhaps). And Arma is the first game they makes me want to upgrade.
4790k was the staple of the ideal arma 3 CPU for a long long time until the 8700k came out. which is what i upgraded too a long time ago now. 12900k would be the world of difference. I seriously recommend it. Wishing you the best with your upgrade.
Yeah. I've been looking at the prices all day. May ask my mate to bring me one from US to UK as it's cheaper there.
Expensive as hell but if you say it's a world of difference I believe you.
Looks like it.
Any single player mods you'd recommend?

Making clever tweaks like this and others help.
In YAAB iv gone from 32fps results on avg up to 42 FPS by simply making clever tweaks everywhere and im only on an i74790 (non K)
Dont bother with 12900k, its a lot more expensive, ddr5 and expensive motherboard but worse performance. 5800x3d is much better single core performance and more cache
https://youtu.be/A-4OOAk-q2E also another bencj mark with arma
Thank you. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I have already bought my components. I did go for 12900k despite its high cost compared to benefits.
I did not realize 12700k would be a great choice because I didn't even think of researching a second best cpu. Ah well, I haven't upgraded since 2014 so I can treat myself.
Unfortunately I am a bit reluctant to go AMD at all, whether it's a CPU or a GPU. I prefer intel and Nvidia at the moment (ray tracing, dlss etc).
I had my components for nearly a month and nearly no time to build anything as I'm very busy right now... Heh.
But i appreciate your advice.
