Arma 3

Extremely low FPS on high-end gaming pc
Does anyone know how to get FPS up from 4 to around 30?
I have a high-end pc(Intel i7 3900, GTX 2070s) and I can run all the games in my library without issues.
However Arma 3 starts up with around 4-6 fps in the lobby and as low as 3 fps in game, leaving me unable to move around let alone play the game properly.

Are there any default settings that need to be toggled for instance? I have tried quite a few things but nothing has worked so far: this includes setting graphics to low, toggling VSync and checking that Arma indeed utilizes my GPU.

So I would be very glad to hear any suggestions for this problem; also I will definitely post more specs if asked for.

If you are playing with super high settings such as render distance, you may want to turn that down. It is also important to say Arma 3 is just one of those games that has mediocre performance even on the best PC

Arma 3 is very CPU intensive compared to the GPU, your CPU is the problem here. An i7 6700HQ (laptop CPU) I ran back in 2016 stuggled with the game (max 10fps) and with an i7 8700 on a desktop I know don't go lower than typically 20-30fps with ~70+GB on mods in multiplayer and will typically get 40+ on single player. Your CPU and because of that RAM choice, are holding back what your GPU is capable of in other games as well. It also important to note that Arma 3 is very unoptimized so even if you have the very best CPU the game hits a certain point where its just too bogged down to get much better than 40fps.

Tried to lower it and it only helped slightly, pushing it up to around 8 fps.

Have more than enough free space as well. Hope this amount of specs is enough!

More scripts in usage, and your fps goes down ... !!! Try "Vertical Sync" off, in the settings ... .

Aah okay, still rather disappointed its around 5 instead of 20 fps. Even hitting 20 fps would be sweet haha.

Yep, tried VSync both on and off and neither worked sadly

i7 3900 doesn't exist so that might be your first problem.

Monitor resource management, might be your RAM. I have 16GB and this game uses most of that. Also try lowering shadow quality, that was a big one when I first started playing and was getting pathetic performance in single player

thats because of the low usage of the processor less than 1% on core i9 lol
but thats because the game engine
