you're best of with A3 mods. VBS isn't compatible.
Arma 3 isn't the "civilian version" of VBS. They're completely different products that happen to share the same original version of the Real Virtuality engine used in Arma 1.
However, both have changed so much by now that there's probably no way you'd be able to port anything over from VBS4 without a truckload of work needed to get them working in Arma 3 (leaving aside legality issues...).
everything else (in my opinion) is very useless and not user friendly.
i have 3800 hours in arma 3 and i do not like VBS at all.
everything is so clunky and not easy to use in editor mode.
infantry movement is bad. vehicle movement and feeling is bad.
Sure arma is not great at that either a lot of the times. but there is not a 4000,- price tag on it. where as vbs had the pricetag. and is not giving what you paid for
For 99pc of us Arma 3 (4???) will be what we really need and want even though the temptation for the forbidden unreachable sim is there tantalising us.
