NOTE: if you have contact enabled and you decide to play the game, you will not have access to multiplayer (probably because the "optional" thing is because you will be able to play the campaign), which is why i said you should disable contact in order to play multiplayer. however if you decide to play scenarios, on the editor(?), or virtual arsenal. you can do so.
The DLC is not available to load, that's the issue. The PLAY CONTACT button is, but I can't just load contact like the game tells me I can.
Contact gear is fine in multiplayer, I've already been killed multiple times in KOTH by the Crye Six12 they added.
DLC and MODS are two different things. you need to open the Arma launcher then on the vertical row to the left, go into DLC and enable Contact or what you need from there, then go down to MODS and enable the mods you like.
Contact is an optional DLC, and when you have it enabled, the launch button should change colour to blue and say PLAY - MODS AND DLC ON
It's a bit confusing and easy to overlook for sure
