Would I involve myself into units without mods? Heeeeelll no.
Punished Larkins, a man robbed of his public servers.
Fr though. I remember vividly back in.. 2017-2018 more than half the public Zeus servers would be actually good and people would use the admin debug console to do some crazy stuff - that's all gone now. All the good zeuses and players mostly underwent Exodus, never to return. Sad!
vanilla SP and MP.
also lots of usermade campaigns and missions that need nothing more but vanilla Arma3.
of course mods can sprinkle this all up, but its not really a MUST for me.
but i cant deny all kind of addons/mods are a big PLUS to keep the game interesting for even a looonger time.
just the huge amount of different mods available for Arma3 gives a LOT of variety.
be it skins, vehicles, weapons, physics, AI behaviour, different time periods in history, new animations, game mechanics, different settings like sci-fi and fantasy, etc etc...
for example, im really glad that mission creators have the ability to use all the desired mods to realise their vision of a nice singleplayer campaign and dont need to stick to vanilla content.
otherwise the quality of their campaigns would not be as good as they are...
...wouldnt be that easy to create a believable singleplayer story set in WW2 or ColdWar era with vanilla content of Arma3, right?
vanilla Arma3 is great but to say about mods ""they are mostly glorified skins for the dress up barbie crowd"" is just rude and far from the truth.
