I only have the Apex DLC

How do I play a game with only this one? It seems everything online requires all the different dlc's?

Hi there!
Well i suggest you wait until there is a sale on these DLC's, It would really benefit your arma 3 experience. I am not sure if there are any servers that use only the APEX DLC.

No, You can still play on those severs unless they are running maps that are included in the DLC, All the equipment you can still use though you will get a popup.

Thanks guys for the reply, thing is, I don't play the game often, just not sure if I should get everything for a player not using the game that much

Thats to bad, that you dont play it often. Arma 3 is truly amazing. It has its quirks here n there but mos t is solvable by correct settings and mods :)

The problem is that most of the server run all type of different player made mods. If you just have one of them not intsalled, you can't play on it. It doesn't matter much which official DLCs you own, as the only thing that blocks is playing on the map Tanoa (which requires Apex) or the map Livonia (which requires Contact).

So if you just want to play, go to the official servers tab. They run non DLC/Mods servers (except a few)

Always find servers through the launcher, NOT the ingame server browser. The launcher can sort out the mods and dlc that are needed, subscribe and download if needed before you start the game to connect to the server. Once the game is running you cannot undo mods applied to the game without shutting it down.

The launcher may show that it 'needs' DLCs. But that isn't always true. The game already has some compatibility mods to allow for logging on to the DLC. Some gear may be used with popups, or only be a passenger in DLC vehicles. Only if it plays on specific DLC terrains do you need to have purchased it.
