Picked up a macbook the other day and was wondering what frames I can expect before installing.

720p and he might have a chance if Arma supports MAC!

Honestly if he gets 25-40 fps on medium he's getting higher than me. 20-40 fps on ultra everything in multiplayer. Render distance at 1400 env and 1000 object. 50 shadows. If I change everything to lowest except render I get the same fps.
Also remember that the mac version is a little behind the windows version, so joining MP will be an issue.

I am jealous

You got a better mac than me.

I installed windows on my ma and got arma 3, it runs pretty badly (30fps~ on ultra low), but it runs.

I got a 2012 MacBook Pro with 2.9 GHz and some other stuff I don't know about since I don't know much about all this stuff.

But looking at your specs from what I know, you would get decent frames on medium graphics (opinion, since I don't know much).

You don't need bootcamp to run arma 3, but if you want to run the updated version (1.64 I think) then you will need bootcamp or similar.

But if you install it normally onto your mac, then it'll only be 1.58 (I think), which means you can only play servers with 1.58.

I had windows 7 for free from a brother, so I got bootcamp that way. So if you already have windows that you can use, then I would recommend getting bootcamp.
