I just got back from my holiday and when i was flying there i actaly flew over the islands i was amazed!!

last post was a little over a month ago so not that dead but it is not in Hellas(Greece) while based off Lemnos and a smaller island a few kilometers south. In lore, the intro, and the seismeic maps found in the base game and editor it is located at 35.71,16.12 off the coast of Sicily and I am pretty sure it's closer to Tunisia than Greece. And if I recall it's only 3/4 the size of Lemnos.

The island proportion is around 3:4 I think. I was looking at the islands quite a bit and comparing them with a few friends a while back. The main roads are all the same. Most of the smaller streets are the same, in fact. Almost all of the small compounds in Arma are also real. When looking in the cities, buildings aren't exactly the same, but there are a lot of similarities.

For example, south of Neri (Thanos in real life), the church is the same, the little complex of houses to the east is the same, and the main road continues up with similar structures around it. The fact that the map is so spot on is really amazing

Malden is also based off of a real island. I think it's somewhere in the ionian islands next to Greece. There is a small canal in between the island and greece mainland, which we obviously don't see.
