Altis Life is RUINING ArmA 3

ArmA 3 is a multiplayer War Simulator which should be played as one, but every single time any player wants to join one of this war servers where you fight A1 or you play PvP they can't, instead you find out that most of ArmA 3 servers are Altis Life, I don't say they shouldn't exist, just reduce the amount of Altis Life servers there are because most of them are empty and bad organised.
It's almost inposible to find a PvP server in this game because as I said before it is full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Altis Life servers. Even though you can kill there you don't get the same action as in the original game. Please do something about this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I'm new to Arma too just bought it and I got to say trying to join a mulplayer has been a nightmare all servers so far have some kind of mod attached to them (I don't own jets).

Let me ask what do you mean by Altis Life servers?

What's the best way to jusst find/join a normal/vanilla server to multiplay on?

It's of no consequence if you join a server that has DLC activated, unless the server plays on an island you don't have.

You merely can't use said DLC items. Well you can, but you will be buggered by advertising popups. Vanilla content should always be enabled though, so you can just use those assets.

Mods however are a different matter.

And Altis Life is a weird roleplaying server / mod that is not exactly military, but rather police and terrorists and even civilians doing jobs.

That thing is around at least since Arma 1.

I personally never bothered, and while I understand OP's frustration with the amount of Life servers... well, it's a sandbox, albeit one intended for military scenarios. but since it IS a sandbox, you can't well restrict what people play inside said sandbox.

Something similar happened to A2+A2OA with DayZ. The bulk of A2 serevrs are just DayZ and variants.

But usage of server filters gets rid of most of them (both in A2 and A3)

The A2OA forums, on the other hand, have been taken over by DayZ server ads and whatnot.
Which is especially stupid since the DayZ mod has it's own forum on Steam.

Just saying the truth, and btw, sandbix servers are in minority, even though you try to find one with filters you won't as most have some kind of password.

No, it's not more interesting. It's full of crappy, shoddy scripts, horrible animated "zombies", and it has ruined the forums at least. People are *that* lazy. DayZ mod has it's own forum on Steam, but everyone spams their garbage servers in the A2OA forum.

For online though, Server Filter, *bam* no more DayZ. or very little that is.

Same for Life. Let them do what they do, you can't do anything about it.

Filter for actually interesting scenarios, problem solved.

I get that it's still annoying to have those servers show up even with filters, but what can you do about it?
