However there's a vast wealth of mods out there, it depends what you like...
Any clues?
Well, i personaly wanted to buy DayZ because i love the ♥♥♥♥ out of surviving and base building(rust for example). This game is just much bigger. I see that a lot of people play Atil life and other RPG modes but as i am a love wolf that does not suit for me. I have Iron Fence mod for WW2 stuff but as it seems nearly all servers are dead with it.
Then play Exile, it's basically DayZ without zombies. But there are servers that have zombies, which would of course require a mod.
A3 Launcher is your best bet for finding these.
By far the best solo experience I've had since maybe Metro Last Light. Pure survival mod, not too difficult, but not too easy either.
Beware, to play this mod you'll also need the Community Base Add-ons ( see http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=18767 ).
If you like authentic survival games, then I don't see how you could not enjoy this one!
RHS by far. If you don't like Arma 3's kinda-futuristic gameplay, the RHS mod will take it back to the cold war style stuff. It will basically convert your full game into modern-day forces. US Marines with both camouflage patterns, US Army with digital and multicam, more vehicles than could fit on a post, and tons of Russians.
If you combine RHS with the CUP terrains and maps, you'll be set for good. I love Arma 3's not too distant future take on NATO and CSAT and stuff, and really unless that annoys you, Arma 3 doesn't need many mods. It's an amazing game built by an amazing team.
There's so many mods out there, this is one game you can't get bored with. You can be gunning from a blackhawk one minute over Germany, and then shooting down a tie fighter the next on some desert planet, then be invading a tropical island with futuristic Chinooks. A post cannot explain the diversity this game has. I'm a fanboy, yeah. But definitely check out RHS.
