This game doesn't require an especially strong graphics card. People get away with 1060's all the time, so if you're dead set on upgrading your graphics then getting up to a 2060 or AMD equivalent will provide plenty of power. However, you'll see much greater returns if you upgrade your CPU to a faster and newer processor. Due to poor multi-core support and a favoritism for CPUs with high instructions-per-clock, the game still has a veritable Intel bias. Think new i7 that you can overclock (usually denoted by a 'K' suffix). Also make sure that you're running fast memory and a solid state drive for optimal performance with this game.

AMD RX 580 all day.

If you want to keep your costs down, I'm running it on an i5-3470 @ 3.2GHz with a GTX 1050 Ti and it runs well enough for me. OK, maybe I'm not too discerning and I don't have loads of mods, but it does work.

Depends on your game settings, especially view/objective distances. If only 1000m then even a GTX1030 can handle it for you.
If over 1500 then you better change your CPU, not graphic card.

Yep. The CPU really has a huge role in determining the framerate with this game. IPC, cache size, and all that combined mean a lot more than the difference between say, a 1060, and a 1070.
