Reccomended Motion Controller/Controls for Arma 3?
I can hear you groaning faintly now as yes motion controls are generally awful but that said I have always wanted to get more immsersed by actually pulling the trigger (Don't take that the wrong way pschologists!)

Arma 3 is a miltary simulator that has (Or at least Arma 2 was used) been used by the army in the past. I don't wan't or need an occulus rift or feet tracking I just wan't to know if there's a decent motion controller or shell for said controller that would work well like a Wiimote or PS Move so that could be to aim and shoot with. I don't expect FULL functionality or to be able to lean But I do expect to move aim without WASD and shoot. without a mouse. Considering the head can be moved seperatley via ALT I'm curious how well or how poorly this will work. If you've tried this, have any ideas like a good shell or know how to do this please let me know.

It seems to work in VR. Since I posted this I've still been looking into using a Wiimote via Bluetooth to act like my mouse so I could in theroy aim it like a gun. The issue with that is the nunchuck and the fact that the Wiimote is generally imprecise (Not that I care as this is an experiment.).

I remember trying a FPS game on Wii and it sucked, I got a shotgun case that they might still sell somewhere like Gamestop and it was still not that great but could be the best option if you manage to get the wii remote working on PC. If your doing it for purely experimental reasons then I would just tie it or tape it to a stick or maybe a nerf gun. lol maybe not the nerf gun but I wouldn't spend much money on this because you can get better precision with a mouse and the annoyance of the wii remotes imprecise traits will break any desired immursion. I would wait for vive VR to get cheaper unless I win the lottery. Whatever you do don't use the remote as a grenade.:steamhappy:
Exactly mouse and keyboard are far better! The Wii mote is famously finicky. The last immersion related experiment I did years ago was to make it so when I pedeled I would move. Arma 2 and DayZ Mod in particular and helped me go from 200 back to 140 I kid you not (Was also not on carbs and used a ton of coffee)! The pedals broke a year ago though from the heat of me pedaling. Also Wiimote nades are a GREAT idea what are you talking about? Galaxy 7's are already great grenades. :P

Thats awsome, than see if the wii will work and if it does maybe make a rifle shaped case out of wood or buy a case on amazon. a wooden case would be around the weight of a gun, also there might be a software out there to adjust the sensitivity of the wii controller and make it less finicky. Did you use pedals that you would use for a flight sim? how did you get that to make you walk in game?
I used a cheap 25 dollar indoor pedal set and only moved if I was pedaling and I the speed I moved which is why Arma was the game of choice. I then tried a Kinect mod somebody made to control racing games with his bike to make it so I needed to use the pedals. The kinect would detect the cycling motion on the bike (Or my pedals) to effect the speed of the car. In Arma the slowest speed was like holding shift, medium was average and sprinting (The most common you'll use in DayZ heh) was determined by moving really fast. This is an example of something similar someone did without a kinect:

Sometimes I would just spawn a bike in the editor and go across Cherno. Bike ception!

Only motion control I saw on any videos use is Track IR

no lol you used cancerous, or as i recall you spelled it canerous due to a typo i would assume. you edited your post. i think other than basic arma 3 play you would need a keyboard or something with alot of controls.

I think "I" should be capital. Also I think that was your mistake for thinking it said that.
