Better wank than cancer
That is hilarious. I can't believe units actually work like that.
Par for the course when Seal Team Donger is around.
(I actually think the STDs are defunct, but who knows)
If you actually read the thread, you would have noticed a lot of bad experiences. Milsim units are ideally good, but more often than not are jokes. The longest-lasting units are "Serious Fun" that like realism in mechanics but not hardcore realism in the structure of their own unit. Shacktactical, commonly considered to be a peak "Serious Fun" unit, for instance has lasted over a decade when the average Milsim unit cannot make it a month for a whole league of reasons.
games allow you to not be serious and experience a taste of war giving a slight adrenaline rush that many crave without the horrors of watching your friends arm get blown off by a grenade or an rpg. It allows one to understand war on a surface level so you can realize the total destruction and terror it brings while staying far enough away so it doesn't impact your life.
In short games like this shouldn't be taken too seriously. there are some serious themes in games like this like what was outlined very well in the laws of war mission, but at the end of the day games serve as a way to experience something or compete with others, and i don't really see many milsim units that have a sole focus of competing with one another. anyway remeber its just a game and should be played for fun, and if you are not having fun or feel like you are under pressure to participate in events against your will then you are in a milsim unit that has lost sight of the fact that this is a game and should probibly switch
You think an Airsoft milsim is bad? You've never seen a NERF milsim then.
My favorite are when NERF "milsims" composed entirely of on-the-spectrum nine year olds try to fight Airsoft milsims composed of on-the-spectrum twenty year olds who all dropped out of college and are too high on pot to aim a gun. It ends up being surprisingly balanced in spite of the overwhelming Airsoft performance advantage.
