The air drop mechanic could use some adjusting. There are so many vehicles constantly parachuting from the sky that if there were real planes dropping them, cargo planes would be criss-crossing overhead and running into each other. (And you wouldn't have that volume of air drops with a significant anti-air threat.) If you could shoot down the planes doing the air drops (or at least destroy the parachute and send the vehicle crashing to the ground), it would reduce the somewhat ridiculous AI tactic of air dropping tons of vehicles right on top of the area they are trying to seize. (Although that does give you the chance to kill the crews as they are parachuting and steal the empty vehicles.)
Also, when you requisition helicopters, half the time the AI delivery pilot lands the thing in an awkward manner and damages the engine, and then you have to get a repair truck or engineer to fix it before you even start flying.
It actually makes me wonder if there's even a theoretical chance for them to even pick them but maybe with enough feedback and support for that mode, we can see some of those "larger scale updates" coming to it that have been mentioned. I always prefered coop over PvP and Arma 2's Warfare mode did a better job with that.
THIS IS THE POINT OF ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WARFARE. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE THE UPPER HAND IN EVERY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ENGAGEMENT. YOU WORK ON ♥♥♥♥ YOU DO BETTER THAN THE ENEMY AND EXPLOIT IT. THIS IS LITERALLY THE ART OF WARFARE
It still doesn't make sense why NATO would only be able to use the worse of the two MBT's available to them.
Bohemia has an OPFOR fetish.
my friend you have no idea how much opfor tanks dont matter to the bluefor the rhino has a maximum atgm laser lock range of 8km and can use air to ground mode and if you use your own darter drone then any ground vehicle will pretty much be dead with enough shots since the release of warlords ive been setting up as laser guided artillery and just completely decimating any and all armor advances all by myself you should never knock a vehicle as inferior until you you use it to its full potential so sure opfor get some tanky tanks and an airfield off the bat but nato gets full blown guided artillery that can be set up with one guy and just make all enemy armor significantly inferior cant hit what you cant see
That is if you actually have players that can use it. One time a friend of mine was playing a tanks vs tanks PvP mission in the unit he's in and the CSAT tanks absolutely wrecked NATO. But really, there's nothing what a few AT weapons can't fix.
CSAT has access to several high value territories that earn >20CPs as well as access to a Helipad plus the only available airfield early in the game.
CSAT's territories are all close by and easy to reinforce and attack, even without spending resources to get to it.
Having access to some of the best vehicles and a lot of CPs, CSAT can pump out all manners of warfare to crush the opposing forces and even blitzkrieging uncontrolled territories, earning even more CPs until NATO is swept out of existence by sheer diference in firepower.
NATO's territories earn <20 CPs as well as having the only way helipad be stuck on an island.
Having to spend resources to attack an island that has no way to teleport into even when it is captured.
If that wasn't enough, NATO also has to walk the most distances, since they are on the south side of Malden, with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of mountains all around.
Having no Helipads hurts NATO much more then CSAT that has access to lots of roads and an easy pass into their close by territories.
Of course I know that if NATO works correctly (and with a little help from potato CSAT players), spending their resources on ways to efficiently deal with each problem, eliminating players that rush expensive vehicles, they have all the chance of winning.
It all piles on the a complete mess that is this gamemode. I don't know if any other maps have this problem, but by god, Malden is really unbalanced.
By God, why didn't they just adapt a version of Xeno's Co40 Domination but TvT?
