Macer: IR guidance only
Sharur : IR guidance only
KH 25 Kedge: IR guidance only
Scalpel : IR and Laser guidance
DAGR : IR and Laser guidance
DAR : Dumb fire
Shrieker : Dumb fire
Tratnyr : Dumb fire
DAR: Dumb fire
For IR guidance engines have to be running for some time.
Also note: Scalpel and DAGR will also follow targeting camera cursor.
Then what's the problem that I can get accurate hits using IR and GBU but my AGM's just fly off into the sunset uncontrollably?
Well one issue I've had is if the missile is facing away from the traget it is suppose to be tracking, it doesn't work. They have a much narrower cone for tracking then the aircraft themselves have. So try and aim your aircraft at the traget when you lanuch.
Ok so I tried to.
1. Point camera at target ctrl+t to hold target.
2. Enable laser, red icon on screen.
3. Point plane directly at lased target.
4. Fire Macer.
5. Watch Macer fly straight into the dirt hundreds meters away from intended target.
Well this doesn't work either. I've tried placing down a convoy of +30 vehicles gave them a waypoint to drive across the map and then kept flying back and forth over them hammering T & R without anything happening..
Select Macers on the wipeout, and look directly at a vehicle with engine on from a range of around 2km. If you cannot lock them from either cockpit view or the targetting pod, something must be wrong. Try looking in settings for your targetting key.
That's only necessary for radar guided AA missiles (the active radar/active radar homing system ARHS), which can be shut off after launching; to be used past 1.5-2km.
