Client-side:
  1. Find a suitable mission
  2. subscribe to any MODs that are required and make sure everyone has them installed
  3. In ArmA:
    1. Select Multiplayer >> Server Browser
    2. Go to Host Server tab
    3. Set Name to whatever you want
    4. Set Host to Internet
    5. Set Password to stop random player connects
    6. Check UPNP box
    7. Push HOST SERVER button
      On the Create Game tab
    8. Select Map to play on and Mission should show in list
    9. Push PLAY button to begin
Give players the name and password to connect.

If you're wanting to play on a dedicated server, then the process i a little more involved, but your best bet is to use something like Tophe's Arma Dedicated Server Tool (TADST)[www.armaholic.com] which makes it a lot easier...

Didn't evolve get taken down? If it's not just watch this video if it is taken down host a virtual network with Haamachi, have your friends join the network then host the server via lan. Or port forward.

No, Evolv3 is still active. I can still use it to host some multiplayer servers with my friends.

If you contact me I will get you a beta copy of a server management tool (FASTv2) you can use to handle everything you need to setup a dedicated server for that. It handles workshop content so you dont need to do any fancy footwork.
You just need a spare computer with a decent cpu core and 4gigs of ram as recommended by BIS.

Total setup time, 5 minutes.
Total setup time with mods, 15-45 minutes.

Hey, can I host a server this way with mods loaded, and be able to play with mods?
Valen Dec 29, 2020 @ 12:41pm
If you want to host a multiplayer mission on your pc then you need to have the mods loaded beforehand in the launcher.

Port forwarding UDP 2302-2306 to the ip4 address of your computer is likely needed. As Upnp often does not work. Maybe VPN software like Hamachi works. But that requires all your friends to install the same. Portforwarding is only needed by the person hosting the server.

How do I port forward to enable upnp? I can’t seem to figure out how to login to my router and select the option
Valen Oct 26, 2023 @ 4:41pm
You either set up your router to port forward manually (allow certain ports, UDP ports 2302-2306 to be open and passed to your server IPv4 address) or you make sure UPnP is supported by the router and it is infact enabled. Don't do both together, it will conflict.

As for how to do that with your router? It's impossible to tell in general as each router has it's own kind of user interface and menus for each manufacturer brand is different. Even for some models. So you will have to look up the internet for some kind of manual or guide. Same goes for the password of the device or how you login to it. Sometimes there is a label on the device with that info. But good chance is the internet service provider changed the default password. Or simply doesn't allow you to do that. Then consider renting a Arma 3 server online.
