Arma 3
HDD vs SSD: What difference does it make for Arma3?
Note: i'm not sure where to post this, so i will post this in general and if im wrong just let me know.

So i installed my Arma3 on SSD cause i heard that SSD make such a difference when playing Arma3 than when you play it on HDD. Problem is i also need my SSD space for one other game which when you cant load into the game quick enough, you'll get voted to kick.

I would like to know what difference does it make when you are using SSD and HDD when playing Arma3 based on the current version, etc. Thx in advance

you'll find textures stream faster.

helps with optic zoom etc.
How about mini lag and stuff when entering town etc?
A SSD will let you render towns a lot quicker, which can sometimes help with lag, but be warned that ArmA tends to clog up storage the more you play, so you need to MANUALLY clean it out and make sure it doesn't fill up your SSD. A lot of this data is hidden well enough that you can't tell it exists unless you know where to look, so i recommend looking at some tutorials.

If you are to uninstall the game via Steam and delete your profile(s), would that get rid of the majority of data used?

Yeah that is most of it. If anything, I recommend just deleting your profile's mission caches often enough. That'll save you a good bit of data honestly.

Yeah just something to make note of. ArmA files tend to just use up space and remember everytime a server file updates you get to download the entire thing again.

I don't think the few tens of MBs of cached multiplayer missions is much of a problem really.
Single player mission saves can be much bigger though, sometimes even tens of MB per save!

Worth cleaning for sure though, every few hundred hours of playing maybe.

Depends how many different servers you join...eg Ahoy invade and annex uses just under 7mb per server map .pbo so in the grand scheme of things....not much, but if a server updates there map they you end up with an obselete pbo which can be deleted.

A standard ssd (450 - 500 mb/s) can be 3-4 times faster than a standard 7200rpm hd, an NVME pci-e x4 ssd can be 4 - 5 times faster than a standard ssd, but all that depends a lot on your rig as a whole.

first of all i tried playing arma 3 on hdd, the problem is, you will get fps drop every 20 seconds , and everytime you spray with a gun you will get fps drop, i was wondering why arma 3 keeps getting fps drops until i relized i installed it on hdd, i moved arma 3 to ssd then all those problems got fixed
