Arma 3

Is Armaholic dead?
Seems quite dead, it's inferior to the Steam Workshop, so is anyone still using it?

Alot of people still use it i bet but i really wish some of the mods that are only on armaholic would come over to steam just because its got better download speeds and its really nice to be able to click once and be done

You have had to pay to sort by date for the last 2 years! And yes that triggers me big time, but that aside, there are tons of scripts that get realeased on there that are not on the workshop so for mission makers and server owners the site is still very much alive! and there is also a lot of mods on there that also ain't on the workshop.

The only way it's inferior to workshop is download speed and sort by date, but armaholic has loads more actual useful content that the work shop

Not really, all the good mods have already moved to the workshop, RHS for example. Scripters and missions making community are also shifting towards the workshop, since it's more appealing to the general public.

So you think there service should be free...despite someone having to pay for the server in the first place, there is at least 60 mods released in June so i wouldnt call Armaholis dead.

Last time (today) I checked they are all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ skins. And yes, I'm expecting this ♥♥♥♥ to be free or I'm not going to use it at all, since there are better, free alternatives.

What you just stated is not ture at all, there is also a reason why content makers don't put there scripts on the workshop! The fact you said use RHS as a example says it all!
Sound like a mainstream casual

So what if I sound like damn casual, maybe I am one, that's irrelevant. The only mod I can think of that is quite big and is not on the workshop, is USAF but It's really messy and kind of crap imo, and the creator is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well. And people do put up their scripts on the workshop, look at ALIAS or somethign like that he pumps out scripts on a weekly or so basis.

You really don't get what you're talking about! so i will end it here! One day you might have a apithanny then we can talk!

All i know is most of the "scripts" people use ain't on the workshop and never will be unless steam change there tos!

PS that guy also posts his work on armaholic lol i wonder why
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=31779

Lmao ♥♥♥♥♥♥, why you acting so superior when you can't even explain to me what I'm saying wrong? Oh that's right, since you have no idea how. I know Alias posts his ♥♥♥♥ on Armaholic, and I didn't say everyone has moved to the workshop, but people are slowly adapting. I also know about the Steam SSA so you can gtfo with that bs. Cringe.

What? PMSL
All i did was tell you how it is and why it is therefore why you're wrong! Not much else to say, No need to get triggered because someone told you something you didn't want to hear! In short armaholic is not dead and workshop with always be inferior to github and armaholic when it comes to "scrpits"! unless if steam change there stand!

Next time take a deep breath and engage your brain before you get triggered, otherwise why ask questions on the forums!????

Ps read back your last post and tell me that don't sound more cringe than anything else in this thread!

I thought you said you were ending it here, but I guess not. Premium kek.

Im really gutted about it, I dont think workshop was superior because it dosent cater for Arma 2 and there was a bunch of mods and missions not avalible through the workshop. Theres a lot more than just the big well known mods out there.

Beyond that there was a wealth of solutions in the armaholic forums for all sorts of issues related to modding and scripting. It was an amazing resource for all things arma... hell i even loved there class names lists with the pictures, all sorted into catagories made is so much easier to find than the BI wiki.

Sad times for me regarding armaholic :(
Hello! I have good news from the Bohemia Interactive forums and wanted to notify everyone that they are currently working on a website that will bring back a lot of things lost in the deletion of armaholic

https://forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/234949-bidentify-a-community-driven-open-file-index-utility-for-usergenerated-content-for-bi-games/
I'd also like to just say that if anyone wants to share anymore mods from ARMA 2 OA, I'd really love to know if anyone has the Gulf Of Aqaba map for ARMA 2 OA.

If not then I'm going to have to do something no man has done before...
PORT ARMA 3 MAPS INTO ARMA 2.

Careful with that, when A3 released people were tying to do the same thing. Now i may be remembering wrong but i think BI put a stop to it and said... "Its fine to port content from the older games to the new one, but we wont allow porting of new content to old games". Just a heads up, id do some googling about it before starting any work on it :)

Who cares what they allow or not? I bought the game, I can do whatever I want with it.

I didn't hear about this but thanks for the headsup

Although I think it's fine considering it's an ARMA 2 map ported into ARMA 3, not BI assets from ARMA 3
