How to change in-game username?

I've looked online but to no avail, whenever I attempt to change my name, the tab to do so is greyed out. I've tried pressing the edit button, deleting the profile and creating a new one, renaming my PC, reinstalling the game, though none of if seems to work. Anyone know a solution to this problem?

you might have to change your steam name to what you want so the different name will show up in multiplayer

You have to make another in game profile and can't be done with the one with the name of your pc, or atleast that's how i used to be

Yes, and I've followed the majority of solutions given. I have long since deleted and created several new profiles in an attempt to get a name besdies "personal name of random user on my computer" or "PLAYER ONE" Even when I create a new profile, the name tab is still greyed out.

You can't change your original profile name, you need to make a new one. If new ones are also greyed out, I don't know how to help you.
