Arma 3
Suggest medical systems and mods in Arma 3
A comment on ace mod's workshop page inspired me to look for and compare medical systems present in mods to each other and how practical/good they are along with if they're realistic or not

I know currently of ace and VETERAN mod, but what other mods are there for medical stuff or systems? Also appreciated would be if it has documentation or a guide on how to use it, if the UI or features aren't intuitive

It would also be appreciated if someone knows where to find documentation or a guide for the VETERAN mod's system, as I couldn't really figure out how to use it

There's XMedSys as well, although I've never tried it before and thus cannot really vouch for it in any respect. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=23618

I applaud you for this meta-effort, it's useful game research that hasn't really been done before. I recommend you evaluate ACE Basic and ACE Advanced separately since a lot of people may not really get the differences between them or what benefits or drawbacks they get from going from Basic to Advanced.

Ive been playing some solo/coop KP Liberation and have been trying to find a good/easy way to get AI to revive players.

Antistasi has this already scripted into its mission. im not sure if its the authors own code, or if its from something else.

i'll list some workshop pages that deal with medical stuff. i have not had success with them so far, but im also pretty new to scripting, and ive probably made errors trying to integrate some of these correctly. im going to keep trying though:

A3 Wounding system:

Grimes Simple Revive:

Injured AI script:

VCOM AI: (not so much a medical system, but an AI overhaul. AI heals itself after combat, so figure its worth a mention

MCC has a pretty balanced and simple medical system inbuilt into it.

I still however prefer ACE 3

I wasn't even aware MCC had a medical system. You learn something new every day.

Highly recommend KAT medical, use it in my unit and adds some much needed realism.
Documentation is on the workshop page.

Thanks everyone so far for your contributions! I've downloaded and subscribed to them, haven't tried much out yet but these are actually surprisingly hard to find (For me at elast)

This is actually so good! Airways! I felt like that was so absurd at first that everyone just had these titanium lungs and necks that could never be penetrated. I always hated how ACE Medical, even when advanced, would really only touch on circulation and treatment of different types of wounds, but the consequence would always be pretty much just blood volume. Blood groups and an IV stand also implies that we don't get the magical automatic IV that always drips no matter what. AED is also a neat addition though strange to see in a military setting

Stuff I think is still missing properly though is refrigeration of blood, temperature of saline and said blood (This is really reaching far though in realism :P), fractures and (probably due to engine limitations) simulation of arteries, punctures and pneumothorax. The tourniquets seem kind of significantly less vital in ACE medical than they do IRL due to that.

Well the IV still flows automatically, it's just that the IV stand comes with a few comes of Saline which you can use extra, so you basically have external IV bags instead of having them on you, I also love how you have different blood types so you'd really get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up if you don't know your stuff, Painkillers are by far one of my favorite things that were added, instead of giving someone morphine and juggling around with their heart rate you can just give them painkillers and they only increase blood pressure (which can be a bonus in certain situations)
it's a win/win
