Why is aiming in this game so complicated
Yes, I am a new player, and I'm trying to learn. All I want to do is aim down my iron sights without having to reach across the whole keyboard to do so. I don't want the gods to reach down and put a magical periscope in front of my face everytime I click right mouse button. Can someone help me? I'n not trying to do some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quick sighting like in call of duty, I just want to do some common sense aiming.

I don't follow mate, all you have to do is lay the sights on the target and click your left mouse button to fire a shot (or hold the button down for a prolonged burst of automatic fire)....What do you need the keyboard for?

i think he me when you hold left ctrl+right mouse (change scope) maybe, but even then it's not complicated

Arma is a realistic shooter, unlike CS sh*t which is just some overrated shooter with garbage for a hit registration system.

How Aiming in ArmA works:

- Right Click to use your sights.
While you are using your sights you can change to another sight on your scope if you have another one by pressing STRG/CTRL + Right Mouse Button.

- If you lay down or stand near a surface you can press C to lay your weapon down on it or deploy your pod for more stability.

- If you hold Right Mouse Button you can Zoom in.

- Make sure to lay down if you can to get more stability else your shots won't be that accurate and it will shake a lot.

wait...isn't aiming down sights universal in literally....every...single....shooter....ever made the same button?

Ever since ADS had been introduced into shooter games it's *always* been right mouse click. i refund games that dont use aim down sights

Read what OP was really asking. Scoped rifles have multiple sights in ArmA, he was probably using the '/ ' button to change sights which is indeed all the way at the other end of the keyboard.

Yeah I actually just found out by this thread that's a new way to change scopes. Awesome. Thank you btw

Honestly, I'd recommend rebinding a few controls. Having zoom and sight toggle on separate keys is much better.
My current: space for raise/lower sights, rmb click to cycle sights, rmb hold to zoom.
I used to have hold space for sights, but that doesn't work well with vehicle interiors.
