How to use Laser Guided artillery shells?
How? Do you just shoot them in the general area and they auto-lock to a laser? How do you lock onto the laser? ACE is being used btw.

Just tell the squad you are providing fire support to, to mark the area and use arty computer. Just use vanilla mortars.... they are accurate enough... the same can't be said for rhs or modded mortars/self propelled..

Laser designation is best for drones, helis and jets.

Maybe this will work for BM 21 Grads or MLRS type systems as they utilized rockets not shells wich would be inaccurate.

I believe they will automatically lock to a friendly laser in the proximity, yes. They're especially useful if you're not a scrub and don't use the artillery computer.

You have cordinates when you don't have arty comp.-. Mortars I could not see being laser guided but I could see a rocket being laser guided (mrls rocket) idk about self propelled.

That's foolish, a laser-guided mortar would see great tactical advantages in the field of accuracy, resulting in obvious benefits especially with mobile targets. Same goes for self-propelled.

My point regarding the arty comp is that it is far better, and far more realistic, to learn how to make adjustments in azimuth and elevation yourself.

If lasing with designator, make sure your buddy has designator batteries equiped as well, common mistake

I haven't tried laser artillery though so can only confirm for GBUs

It's a 2018 post and things changed a lot. Now it's not difficult to laser guide a artillery round or bomb to the laser marker, even AI gunner can hit a target highlighted by you laser. But the laser guided artillery round just got nerfed a lot, it just can't even kill a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rabbit. Laser aerial bombs are still good.

Interesting changes

Old topic but the 2S3M1 LG shells act like Wire-guided projectiles instead of Laser-guided ones. They go where you point instead of where the laser is. RHS made a 152mm TOW launcher.
