This mission makes me stop playing this game , I mean this game is good , But if it is to hard to find them the fun is over.
2 hours of trying now

I know it has a termal but cant find the spotters in the ?

The spotters are North East to the town. Cannot remember precisely tho. Two men hiding behind a rock with clear line of sight on the town.

Are they in the ? zone on the map?

The area they appear is randomized so it won't be the same each time. They should be somewhere just back up the valley on higher ground (not the top, but should as hell not at the bottom).

Everytime all I had to do was send the UAV up like 20-50m, and just look for a few seconds. It is easy to spot thier heads sticking out from behind a rock or bush with the thermals.

Those last 2 comments are as useful as teats on a bull.

What the 'H'elp menu on the drone doesn't give you, is that in flight mode, you have 2 view modes, normal and night vision. But, in targeting mode, you have 4 view modes, Normal, Night Vision, IR White Hot, and IR Black Hot.

As Bob of Mage wrote above, get the UAV up to some good height then turn on hover with 'X' and then switch to the targeting camera (mouse scroll and select from the menu). Then Press N twice. First press moves from normal camera to night vision, 2nd 'N' will switch to Thermal (Infra Red White Hot) mode. Now scan around you and try spot some white spots that don't belong. Note the heading, move your drone a bit closer and switch back to targeting and recheck. You should get the hang of it with a few tests. Call in on the job training :-)

When you find the guys, hover over them but not too low that you get the drone shot down, and then laze them (mouse clicks) and this will call in fire support which should wipe them out.

I'm sure that this comment a year later might find you've done it already, but this comment mainly for those who Google the mission and have the same question as you guys.

this mission made me stop playing the game for half a year. And here i am, half a year later trying to make this mission and it made me quit again.

Yeah, no. Screw this mission. Every single time I took off with the drone, it was shot down half a second later. Not worth the aggravation.

Yup i've had trouble with it aswell
Here's a sum up ( thanks to guides and helping posts here)

1. go to the dead UAV-Soldier and open his inventory
2. Swap UAV-Backpack with yours, Swap GPS with his UAV-Controls
3. Assemble the Darter
4. Open UAV Controls and pick your Darter on the Top left menu (then close this menu)
5. Take UAV controls and bring your UAV in the air
6. Search for the Spotters - You can Press N to swap between Nightvision and >Heat Vision< and also use NUM+ and NUM- for zooming They are East-North-East, half up the Hills of the Valley behind a rock - 2 Soldiers
7. Use the menu to swap to HoverMenu
8. Take UAV Turret controls and hold down Right and Left Mousebutton while aiming at them.

after a few Seconds your Team should respond and you can watch the spotters blowing up.

Thats it for that part... the mission isnt over yet BUT there will be an autosave :)
