How does a GTX 1080 run this game on multiplayer?
From what I've heard, people could run tanoa at 60 fps at 1080p, but there's videos on youtube claiming that the GPU doesn't affect FPS, and your FPS is pretty dependent on how well the server is optimized...

But I'd like to hear about how smooth the 1080 is from people who own it, or are experienced with graphics cards!

Thanks.

It depends. If you run it on ultra etc it will be dependent on your graphics card. If you run it on low it will depend on your cpu. I have a 970 and an i5 and I run arma well usally 50-60 fps.

Even the 1070 is better than the 980ti and the 1080 is miles above that. I have a 1070. Honestly I dont see any performance increase from when I was running an amd ati radeon hd 4850 that's 6 years old and ran at over 125C before I swapped it out. So it was constantly throttling. (Was only under like 70% load too). I plan to get an i7 6700k fairly soon to replace my i7 920 @ 2.66ghz. Also an ssd since the stutter is real. I can turn up a few gpu rendered settings without any performance hit and render everything in 200% resolution and that's about it. No noticable increase in graphic quality or fps.
