for koth you need machinegunner perk and MX SW. put an RCO on top of that baby and you got a solid weapon both for sniping and close quarters battle.
no ♥♥♥♥, sherlock. But it is crap in CQC because of 10 round mag. Also rate of fire. Yeah it can go through walls etc. But with all points taken into consideration, MK14 is better fitted for KOTH playstyle.
But for 300mtr, I use mk20 and using scope, silencer and a granade launcher. It is enough to dealing and snipe tower in 600 - 700mtr away.
dont worry with heavy armor. A 5.66mm shoot in the head can kill opfor special forces armor.
mxsw has a semi-automatic mode and it is accurate up to 800m you noob. you were asking for good midrange weapon. good luck emptying that 20 bullet mk14 to walls and getting killed while trying to reload. lol
Anyway, the biggest downside of the Cyrus when you're forced into CQB is it's weight and length. The Mk14 on the other side is one of the lightest DMRs there is, making it very versatile.
That beeing said, if you position yourself smart, then the Cyrus is a force to be reckoned with. (At any range up to roughly 1200m).
It's ability to 1-shot most enemies, combined with the a decent rate of fire allows you to wipe out an entire squad in just a few seconds – which is kinda hard to do with an Mk14.
ps.: I'd recommend using the Cyrus with a silencer and a DMS or AMS sight.
If you take on the role of sniping then I'd suggest the Cyrus. If you take on the role of Marksman then the Mk14 is awesome for that task.
Most people who play Arma don't know the difference between a “Sniper” and a “Marksman”.
I personally like the 7.62 20 rounds magazine over the 9.3 10 rounds as a Marksman because of it's sustainability in close quarters situations. However I'd chose the 9.3 for longer ranges.
I enjoyed playing with DMR in BF4, and got a stack of kills with them. That started to happen in KOTH last night as well and my K:D was better than ever.
Tonight I might try the mk14 for comparison.
