mk 14 or cyrus 9.3mm?
Which rifle is better for close to mid range combat? I'm talkin less than 300m. I need to know because I bought all of my perks and have a little money.

mk 14 cause of fire rate but you still should save and go with mk1/mk18

Cyrus is amazing IMO but the mk14 is fun too. If you're talking about KOTH which I believe you are then get the Cyrus. It's more effective vs heavy armour which most people have.

none.
for koth you need machinegunner perk and MX SW. put an RCO on top of that baby and you got a solid weapon both for sniping and close quarters battle.

Not interested. Too much of a tendency to spray and pray. I'd rather use a marksman rifle.

mk14 is more versatile, as you can snipe effectively up to 1000 meters with it. but Cyrus has more punch just less ammo per magazine. I'd go for mk14

no ♥♥♥♥, sherlock. But it is crap in CQC because of 10 round mag. Also rate of fire. Yeah it can go through walls etc. But with all points taken into consideration, MK14 is better fitted for KOTH playstyle.

if you do a close combat then try find a better fire rate which is mk14. A cyrus is an one shot kill but low fire rate.

But for 300mtr, I use mk20 and using scope, silencer and a granade launcher. It is enough to dealing and snipe tower in 600 - 700mtr away.

dont worry with heavy armor. A 5.66mm shoot in the head can kill opfor special forces armor.

mxsw has a semi-automatic mode and it is accurate up to 800m you noob. you were asking for good midrange weapon. good luck emptying that 20 bullet mk14 to walls and getting killed while trying to reload. lol

Wow, why is everyone so crazy about magsize and rate of fire. You guys must be terrible shots in CQB.

Anyway, the biggest downside of the Cyrus when you're forced into CQB is it's weight and length. The Mk14 on the other side is one of the lightest DMRs there is, making it very versatile.

That beeing said, if you position yourself smart, then the Cyrus is a force to be reckoned with. (At any range up to roughly 1200m).

It's ability to 1-shot most enemies, combined with the a decent rate of fire allows you to wipe out an entire squad in just a few seconds – which is kinda hard to do with an Mk14.

ps.: I'd recommend using the Cyrus with a silencer and a DMS or AMS sight.

The Cyrus is semi full so it can be good at cqc if you are not fighting opfor.MK14 has lots of recoil, worst damaging 7.62 and dosean't do well at long range.Cyrus 1 shots up to 500 meters and more as well as being versatile. But if you wish an MG go for Navid which fires big rounds has 150 of em no recoil when prone or crouched and can take out squads ez

It's all about playing style. So asking for someone's opinion about a gun isn't really going to help because everyone is going to produce a different view.

If you take on the role of sniping then I'd suggest the Cyrus. If you take on the role of Marksman then the Mk14 is awesome for that task.

Most people who play Arma don't know the difference between a “Sniper” and a “Marksman”.

I personally like the 7.62 20 rounds magazine over the 9.3 10 rounds as a Marksman because of it's sustainability in close quarters situations. However I'd chose the 9.3 for longer ranges.

I picked up the Cyrus 9.3 and DMS scope, stuck a silencer on it last night and imediately fell in love. The accuracy over 300-500m and it's stopping power was very satisfying, no doubletaps required. I now know what "he's got a Cyrus" means.

I enjoyed playing with DMR in BF4, and got a stack of kills with them. That started to happen in KOTH last night as well and my K:D was better than ever.

Tonight I might try the mk14 for comparison.
