Bypass DLC download / Devs that force downloads

Does anyone know of a way to skip the update? I'm not buying the dlc and I dont have the space. and I refuse to remove games I play to waste 22gig of space.

I'm also concerned this is going to become common practice, Bethesda forced CC on everyone and I'm never going to use it. I don't think developers or steam should have the right to force unwanted, unpurchased dlc and features on to consumers storage. Thoughts?

Get more storage. I'm not having a dig- if you cant free up 22gb for anything -games or not- its time to get an external hard drive.

Back to arma- the content you are downloading is so that you can play with people who do have the dlc and so you can play things that have dlc content in it- whether you intent to use it or not. It's how arma's dlc's work.

Stryker, I feel you on that, unfortunately I've already invested in 4 drives, Im not lacking in storage capacity, for a dlc update. I mean theres no reason it shouldn't an option and 28gig is a lot for people with lower capacity drives. I feel like its their way of persuading people to buy it kinda like. "♥♥♥♥ it, its on my hd, might as well" and I'm not really complaining, its just a bit annoying that I gotta find space, I'll dl it, for the simple fact theyre holding my game hostage with the update.

Icarus, but surely that could be server side? DOOM didnt install the dlc's and I dont own them, yet I can still play maps from them if people in the lobby own it.

Those games operate differently than Arma3 and that's why you need to update cheapskate.

HDD space is cheap, just get a bigger one.

I have 6tb of storage, my only issue was not being able to play without downloading the update which at the time, I didn't have space. I have it now so there no problem. My second issue is developers FORCING you to download things, maybe I should have made a diff thread about that. Im thankful for updates, just not one that are dlc focused, Arma still needs a lot of optimization, not dlc, theres plenty of mods that add better and more assets than the dlc.
