I think you answered your own question, vehicle servers are only fun for the stacking team and its a exercise in futility for the other two teams.
Its no secret that most Koth games are unbalanced with one team getting the better or just plain MORE people on it, add op as fk Wipeouts/jets/kajmans/tanks to that and you have a 24/7 100% death zone outside the safe zones.
The few recent times I have been on the vehicle servers have all been completely one sided fights with one team having like 5-9 jets + bunch of other vehicles + ~5-10 more people than the other teams.. just the jets alone are enough to keep two teams locked in their bases while they only have a handfull of people in the AO scoring points.
There isnt anything you can do about those numbers but if it was a infantry server you could do something, its not at all impossible to kill a bunch of people just by yourself if they are just infantry.. 1 vs 5 jets though, unless they are pants-on-head-stupid you dont have a chance.
And I havent even mentioned all the 1-2 man vehicles sitting outside the AO just blasting anything that comes close from a few km away.... all this combined is why infantry servers are more popular.
