Zeus Remote Control Bug

It's 2017 and this bug still exists? Why! To put it in a nutshell if I use remote control on a unit (doesn't matter what faction or class) There's like a 45% chance that I will have no control over that unit and it just shows first person view. When I back out by press Y back into Zeus and then back to my actual player unit, my player is absolutely frozen with only being able to zoom in and out. I saw this bug reported back in 2014 when Zeus first came out and apparently a patch fixed it, but no it's still happening for me and my game is obviously up to date. No mods are doing this since I tried it out on vanilla and it still happens if I do remote control enough.

Things I've Tried:
Save and Exit and go back into the mission
Completely closed the game and went back into the mission
Restarted my entire PC and went back into game
Did a clean install of Arma 3
Deleted all mods
Used vanilla maps

someone replicated it as well this is absolutely annoying how can dying in a gunner seat ALWAYS break remote control and this not be fixed?

This is an easier fix for reference don't have to restart anything just a simple back out to role select then select a different slot back out one more time then select original slot. Not an ideal situation but since the bug is not fixed this is the solution that works for me.

I had this bug for forever, I forget which mod it is, but there's a mo that has a "Switch unit" module which RC"s a unit and overrides this bug. Not sure what it does

Same here, have to restart (and sometimes even rebuild) Zeus Missions I have been playing with friends for the evening...

still have the same issue after 4 years or more I think this has been persisting. What a shame, maybe they'll fix it in ARMA 4... (probably not)

So the solution to this for now is you have to back out to the role select screen and pick a different slot then load back in. Once in again back out one more time and select your original slot then load in again. This should fix your issue and even on a locked server you can still load in. Secondly there is another bug where your zeus camera is stuck in place and you are completely locked up and can't do anything just have someone kill you and it will fix the bug. This is the only solution right now.

2023, This has been happening a ton to me however only when I use the Russian Forces which I think are vanilla.

Just encountered this myself and after 20 min managed to fix it by pressing esc and going in and out of the camera mode, Hope it helps anyone struggling in the future :)
