Also reading up they stole another modding teams assets, after asking that team and got shot down because they did not want their assets alongside ripped assets out of bf2 or w/e that was going to get legal attention.

You can find most of the details there.
Either way no reason to white knight for disney lol they got enough lawyers and money to crush anyone. This stuff would not fly very long period.
1. They provide credit for any and all modders whose work is included in Star Wars: Opposition that is not currently credited.
2. They retract the Adf.ly links and replace them with regular download links off of Google Drive and/or Mega.nz.
I'm fairly certain Disney will let them go if they hold themselves up to the second point, and I'm pretty sure the BHI and CSA38 teams (along with anyone else) will drop charges if they hold themselves up to the first.
Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded? Petrtlach is one of the leading WW2 Modders, and one of the best i've seen. You sirr are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ false on that statement, and I say IMMEDIATELY retract it before people ♥♥♥♥ up your day.
It's a shame that the idealistic outcome seems like such a pipe dream. The SW:O team has stolen content and I understand why petrtlach feels like he's getting ripped off. I once thought a little while ago that all modders could put aside "ownership" of their creations and allow derivations for the common good, but then I realized how much that design would damage many modders' enthusiasm to mod.
I won't ever forget back in the early days, before SW:O was taken off the workshop, how one skeptic called Icarus called a SW:O developer's response "a classic eastern-european backout". He was totally right. The SW:O team hails from the Russian Federation, which does jack-all when it comes to DMCA takedowns. The Russian Federation is in the top three international copyright offenders, mixed in with the People's Republic of China and India. The Star Wars Opposition team is just the tip of the copied iceberg... just without the high ground. (It's over Anakin!)
Unfortunately for many, the SW:O team is virtually untouchable and their mod will continue to be around for many days to pass. Even if you get it off of Google Drive and Mega.nz through a flurry of DMCA requests, it will continue to be reuploaded either onto progressively sketchier websites or under false names. I'm anticipating a lot of "underground" modders like the SW:O team will start using darknet solutions if the BHI and CSA38 teams start laying down fire.
There are two options:
One, the content owners start developing tools like the Workshop Crawler to find and automatically file copyright takedowns on their mods. This won't work if the offenders start encrypting their mods. Victory will be achieved when alternative channels become so obscure and difficult to use that proliferation of the offending mods becomes virtually impossible. Downside is that this will cost a lot of time and will be very dramatic across the internet.
Two, the rightful owners walk away and let the SW:O team be. The underground modders will continue ripping and polishing content as they please and the players get to enjoy maximum content with minimum stress. Regardless of your point of view, Star Wars Opposition is pretty fun. Only downside is that this status quo will continue.
I think your mod is pretty sweet Petrtlach and a lot of other people do too. The SWO team has their audience and you have yours. You'll just have to keep on modding while they do whatever elsewhere. Just remember that the community will always treasure your contributions to Arma.

Edit: I'm noticing numerous differences between the two guns that might make this wind up being a misunderstanding. You can see that the DLT-19 is of much lower quality, especially if you inspect the texture, muzzle, and stock. If I were the SW:O team, I would keep the higher quality portions for sure. Towards the back of the gun, near the chin-rest, you can see an outcropping on the MG34 that is absent on the DLT19.
The bipod is almost entirely different. Iron sights of the MG34 are also absent on the DLT19. I think the potential misunderstanding stems from the fact they're both based off of an actual real-life gun and will thus look very similar.
Make sure to carefully inspect the level of quality between the two guns. The DLT19 looks like it was ripped from a certain Playstation 2 game, judging by the "quality". Meanwhile, the MG34 looks properly-made.

Nevertheless, you have a much better model at your disposal now and Arma III is much more populated than Arma II. Why not let them have the obviously worse Arma II model and walk away from the whole deal? You've now provided the proof indicating that you're the rightful owner of the model anyway so they're certainly not getting the credit.
