Yes! I think there should be an override command that you could tell ai.

The commands are never even being given. A single command works and then the commands are completely unresponsive. They aren't even given out to be denied.

If you haven't checked the virtual tutorials on how to lead, I'd advise you check them as they are well made and give a look at a big portion of the AI commanding features.
It's possible certain mods or certain parameters/modules from the scenario can cause issues.
But the first thing you should try is to repeat the order, then repeat the order through each unit. If that doesn't move, it might also be a position issue. Try changing position, to more open ground if possible.

I play with him, we've been trying to figure this out. Long time Arma player here, and it just doesn't work. Same mission, addons, everything. I can give my squad orders whereas he cannot. The first order works, the squad complies. Then it seems the entire AI command system just shuts down after that and not another order can be given. I'm not sure if it is the AI or his player, the commands are never even being issued after he hits the spacebar key to select the order. Crossposting this in bugs and troubleshooting.

Why don't you provide the link?

Everytime when I have to read "My friend have a issue" or "my brother have used my computer", I get the suspicion of pirated software and using Cheating consoles.

What kind of comment is that? What on Earth does pirated software and cheating have to do with a link or a bug? Kindly stop posting useless comments because you feel elitist.

So I've discovered a few nice tricks, at least:
- When they start doing something stupid, like running out where they'll be seen, immediately press ` + Stop (moving). That seems to work every time. Then you can work on fixing it without trying to compete with their current disposition...
- Use ` + 8 + 8 == File formation. They seem to follow you most closely (in a single file line) with this formation, with the lowest amount of deviance. Then, use ` + Regroup (possibly preceded by the Stop command...) and they should get back into file.
- Use ` + 1 + 1 == Return to Formation. This seems to get them to strictly return right back to your formation.
- See also: ` + # options. These might be better because you can hit the same #'s every time to issue various commands.
- ` + 3 + 2 == Hold Fire. Whenever you're sneaking around, always do this first...
- ` + 7 + 1 == Stealth. ` + 7 + 7 or 8 is Crouch or Prone for your squad. These give you extra control, for e.g. situations where you're sneaking through a forest, and when you want them (and yourself) to whisper, rather than shout everything at the top of their lungs...

This is also handy to tell you exactly what everything does: https://guides.gamepressure.com/armaiii/guide.asp?ID=21605

e.g.:
Advance - a selected unit will advance a few meters ahead.
Stay back - a selected unit will stand behind you in formation.
Wait for me - if a selected unit is far ahead of you, then he will stop and wait until you get there.
Find cover - during the enemy contact, a selected unit will start looking for cover.
Stealth - selected units will go into stealth mode, and they will try not to make any noise and hold fire.
Danger - selected units will go into danger mode - their weapons will always be raised and they will attack the enemy as soon as they see one.

So you are one of those trolls that likes to necro old threads. I'll make a note of that.

I don't actually think that the user in question had that intent, and I don't believe it's a big deal about "necroing" anyway.
It wasn't a big deal, until he decided to make an ass of himself. I just wanted him, or any poster, do look at the date of the thread before responding. Then he decided to be a jerk.

For only necroing? That seems melodramatic.

And, seems like you were helping out.
I was being ironic, not complaining.

Looking at the date is irrelevant. The date is irrelevant. People search for problems they have when playing a game, and they come across these threads. So long as the game is being played, and so long as they have these issues, the thread remains relevant. Thus there is no such thing as necroing in such a case.

You, on the other hand, cry about it, and also further increase your notifications. But you are the one posting unnecessarily, not us. You can always unsubscribe.
