Stop using arma 3 sync...
Just go on the servers list in the arma 3 official launcher, click on the server you want to join, itll show the mods, click on the browse mods button, install as required. Enter server.

All external and unofficial launcher are simply not necessary unless you are lazy AF and cba to update your server regularly

Some communites/units pull specific parts of a mod for their own custom modpacks. Arma 3 Sync is simply easier for this.

Why not use sync? Who cares? It doesn't hurt anyone does it?

This should NOT be done. You need permission of the original mod author if you want to upload a (part of a) mod on the workshop that you did not create.

You dont upload the mod by itself you create a pack with all the files you use, and upload it, and almost every mod is available on steam worth getting at this point. Do not reupload a mod by itself, you pack it up and upload all your mods as a pack for your group..which is fine.

something like this, its not mine, i just typed in modpack. This came up. This is perfectly fine to do.

Because sometimes they only want a certain part of a mod, not to mention there's alot of content on Armaholic and BI forums that isn't on the workshop.

everything worth downloading has moved to the workshop really, and not only that, you can pack mods from elsewhere up as you like onto the workshop and instantly have others download via your pack or via the server option in the official launcher. You can also get a link to armaholic via the launcher if your mod is not on the workshop.

There is literally no need for outside launchers anymore...people still remember arma 3 without a decent launcher but theyve worked on it and its better than anything else out there atm.

Is Arma 3 sync automated once it's all setup?
Tree™ Mar 30, 2017 @ 12:32pm
It's nearly fully automated, it will tell you when a modpack has been updated.

What about the mods which aren't on the workshop, such as UNSUNG?

Its a single mod you can add to your pack, you can even get a link via the launcher for the unsung mod.

Well to keep this hort, i mean its nearly 3 years.
DCMA - You CANNOT REUPLOAD EVERYTHING IN THE WORKSHOP
so Arma3 Sync is still usefull.

Adding onto this, there are some mods like SW:O that are walking copyright issues by themselves. It's better to use A3Sync for those than the workshop.

No doubting there is still a use for it, But I've not needed to use it for about 5 years myself lol
It still seems to be very popular with the wife communities so they can still use all that stolen content on their servers

It's definitely interesting seeing the different approaches to copyright on the platforms. The workshop's DMCA reporting system strongly favors the accuser (and a lot of fraudulent DMCA claims have been made in the past, go look at the guys who threw one at USP) while it seems to be a lot harder to bump a mod off on sync.

The troll failed to take out USP, didn't he? The mod was just tagged while the claims were investigated.
